Out & About in Scarborough 
 
Scarborough is one of the most popular seaside resorts in Britain with lots of attractions for everyone. The North and South Bays are very different yet each with its own charm and wonderful large sandy beaches. 
 
Families love the traditional feel of Scarborough with plenty for the children to do from donkey rides, sandcastles, amusements, mini golf and the Sea Life Centre. Don’t forget Peasholm Park where you can hire pedalos and rowing boats to sail around the lakes. They also perform a miniature re-enactment of a sea battle which has entertained families for many years. 
 
There are some excellent restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. There’s also the Stephen Joseph Theatre, home to most of Sir Alan Ayckbourn’s world premiere plays. 
 
The largest open-air theatre in Europe is here in Scarborough with fantastic international acts throughout the summer. Scarborough Spa on the seafront esplanade provides excellent entertainment throughout the year and the Spa Orchestra perform on the scenic sun terrace in the summer. 
 
Scarborough forms part of the Cleveland Way and there are some fantastic walks right on your doorstep. The smaller resorts of Filey and Flamborough Head are just down the coast as well as the RSPB bird sanctuary at Bempton where you will find puffins in their natural habitat. 
 
Head North and you'll discover Whitby with its busy working harbour and cobbled streets. Full of charm and character, it’s definitely worth a visit. Yorkshire is famous for its stately homes and Castle Howard. Sledmere House, Burton Agnes Hall and Sewerby Hall are also all close by.
